  2.                          HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM                     
  3.         This program is designed to help you learn Katakana. It can be 
  4.         used in two different modes,  learn mode  and  test  mode.  In 
  5.         learn  mode  the program acts like a deck of flash cards.  You 
  6.         are given the opportunity to think of the way to pronounce the 
  7.         letter, and can then check your answer by using the space bar.  
  8.         In test mode,  you are given multiple choice answers for  each 
  9.         letter  or  group  of  letters,  and  the program records your 
  10.         errors in a file that you can view by using the  "see  errors" 
  11.         option or "error". These errors can be viewed at any time, and 
  12.         can  then  be cleared or saved.  If the errors are saved,  the 
  13.         next time that the program is started up,  you can immediately 
  14.         view the errors that you made during the previous session.  
  15.         We recommend that you spend plenty of time with the learn mode 
  16.         before   you  attempt  the  test  mode,   so  as  to  not  get 
  17.         discouraged.  You can change from test mode to  practice  mode 
  18.         and back again by using number 8 in the menu,  and hitting the 
  19.         space bar.  Finally,  you can use the words option to try your 
  20.         new  skills  at  real  words  taken  directly  from  signs and 
  21.         magazines.  Here,  hit the space bar once to view the  spelled 
  22.         out Katakana, and again to see the english.
